The Season

This is the season. The one most people wait for all year. I don't.

Through my life most of the tragedies have come between my Birthday in November, and New Years day. I would be perfectly happy if November 17th (K's birthday) was followed by January 1. This year is no different. My world is in upheaval and i have no idea how it will turn out. Us Scorpios don't handle change well to begin with, and change we have no control over drives us positively insane.

So I will listen to the old country song Make it Through December and wait to see what 2014 brings.

Here are a couple of Christmas pictures taken at Red Neck Christmas. Enjoy kids and catch you after Amateur Night.

Dr House

There are some times that even I can see why people say I look like Hugh Laurie

Homecoming

Kamryn and Luke. First Homecoming Dance. Very proud of you Poohs, and of course sad that you aren't a baby anymore. You are so much more. You are amazing. :-)

New lens. Just picked up a Nikon 35mm f/1.8. For my DX camera this is my 50mm walking around lens. At 1.8 I can shoot without flash and get the look I love. Best part? After garage sale and change I've been saving, it cost me about $20!

Plaza Walk about 8-24-13

Well I had a very humid walk on the plaza this morning, but got some really good shots.
Enjoy

This is quite possibly my favorite shot I have ever taken.

Kinda says it all, huh?

Film Row

Went on a walking tour of Film Row in Kansas City this morning. It was a nice morning and the tour was good. A shame that more of this District hasn't been saved. Here are some pictures from that and a trip to Edgerton.

From 18th and Wyandotte looking North.

Gospel and Schlitz? Sign me up

Knuckleheads at a quiet time.

Thinking of doing a series of music venues in the mornings. Kind of a West World thing, replacing the robots.
Take care all.

West Bottoms walk about 6-22-13

My buddy Clint was in town from Minnesota (or Scandahoovia as he calls it) and we met near Kemper for a morning walk around. Due to laziness, and the night before, we were a little later light wise than we had hoped, but still got some good stuff I think. Enjoy!
So many angles and not a right one to be seen!

 Follow the old brick road
 Clint working the large format
Really like this one, kinda sums it up

 Tiny tree

I've heard of the green door...

As always, life finds a way.

Cainsville Trip

A trip to North Missouri for Mom's Birthday led to a photo op
(as most things do)

Ditches still full of water from all the rain we've had
Someone lost a mailbox
Lonely creaking windmill
A little fun with a kind of HDR
Making a sunny day stormy

And the real reason I came. Mom would have been 78. It was a pretty day but would much prefer being able to sit and talk with her in person.
